The Brisbane Tramway Museum and Queensland Omnibus & Coach Society will be running a Bus tour along some of the old Southside Tram and Trolley Bus Routes on Sunday 20 October 2019 departing 12:15pm from Roma Street, using QOCS Leyland Panther buses that was used as tram replacement.
The tour will start at 12:15pm at the bus stop outside Brisbane Transit Centre, Roma Street, Brisbane opposite Brisbane Police HQ.
The tour will follow outbound along the West End and Dutton Park Tram Routes, along Cornwall Street line pass the old Ipswich Road Depot and O’Keefe Street line, outbound along Salisbury Tram Route, inbound along Mt Gravatt Tram Route, outbound and inbound along Belmont Tram Route, outbound along part of Cavendish Road, Seven Hills and Carina Trolley Bus Routes and outbound and inbound along Balmoral Tram Route. Whilst travelling these routes a full presentation will be supplied by a Tram Museum member about interesting points.
During the tour, afternoon tea will be supplied at the Coorparoo Shire Hall at 210 Cavendish Rd and at the same time a talk on trams in Coorparoo will be supplied by the Coorparoo & District Heritage Group, the bus will then continue on the tour after this. The tour will also stop at the exiting tram line at Carina for a photo opportunity.
The Bus will return you to Roma Street Transit Centre at about 4:30pm
The fare for the tour is $35.00 per person (including GST)
