National Tree Day started in 1996 and has grown into Australia’s largest community tree-planting and nature care event.

It’s a call to action for all Australians to get their hands dirty and give back to the community.

While every day can be Tree Day, we dedicate celebration of Schools Tree Day and National Tree Day to the last Friday and last Sunday in July.

This year, community group, Save Our Waterways Now and Paten Park Nursery will be holding a tree planting event funded through The Gap ward office and the Lord Mayors’ Community Fund.

If you would like to take part in the event, come along to Hilder Road State School on Sunday 28 July from 10am – 3pm for an amazing day of performances, planting, wildlife shows, stalls and food for everyone.
