Bringing life to your suburb with a $2 million cut in small business fees
Brisbane City Council is supporting small business with a $2 million cut in fees, a dedicated 24/7 Business Hotline and Small Business Liaison Officers. It’s bringing life to your suburb with cafes, food trucks, startups and more. The small business fee reductions page on the Council website details all eligibility requirements.

Building the brand new double-decker CityCat 22
Brisbane City Council has announced a new vessel, a double-decker CityCat known as CityCat 22, which will join Council’s existing fleet of CityCats in late 2019. CityCat 22 represents the evolution of river travel, with there being no better way to see Brisbane. The double-decker CityCat page on the Council website provides details on the new vessel.

Giving first home owners 50 per cent off rates for the first 12 months of home ownership
By providing a one-year 50 per cent rates discount for first home buyers to a maximum of $1000, Brisbane’s first home buyers are getting help at a time they need it most. The discount comes into effect from 1 October 2019. The owning your first home is easier page on the Council website details all eligibility requirements.

 

Providing free off-peak travel to seniors
From 1 October 2019, senior go card holders can travel for free on Brisbane buses, CityCats and ferries from 8.30am-3.30pm and 7pm-6am Monday to Friday. Seniors can also travel all weekend for free on Brisbane’s buses. Free travel during off-peak times will create more opportunities for older residents to move around the city and connect with family and friends.
